BIO

Ben is a Louisiana native and now lives in Bossier City, LA. After a career in the business world, he decided to follow his creative interests.  Always a maker, he grew tired of the limited scope of hobby and craft work, so he returned to higher education to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

His work is a combination of painting and sculpture. It typically reflects his love of geometric shapes and lines. Color, craftsmanship, and structural imagery are other elements that are characteristics of his work. The materials that he uses are primarily wood, metal, and acrylic paint. His extensive experience working

with numbers impacts his attention to detail. He aims to create pieces that suggest energy or movement.

Ben had work chosen for exhibition in the Annual Student Show at Louisiana Tech University each year from 2018 through 2021, where he earned Honorable Mention in 2018 and 2019, and Best in Show BFA in 2021.  He was awarded the School of Design Director’s Award for Academic Achievement in 2019.
